This collection of papers contains legal documents, such as land deeds, including those of Ebenezer May (1692-1752) and Eleazer May (1705-1783), bonds and receipts of their father John May (1663-1730), and statements of shares in the Roxbury Canal owned by Increase Sumner (1746-1799). The collection also contains several land surveys, primarily concerning Hannah Pratt ( - ), a membership certificate for Washington Lodge, and the town tax book for the year 1804 kept by James Pierce (1755-1826) and listing all property owners and their assessed poll, real estate, and personal taxes for the town, county, and state.
