Ebenezer Turrell Andrews (1766-1851), the son of William and Mary (Andrews), was born in Boston, Mass. on 18 November 1766. He was apprenticed to Isaiah Thomas (1749-1831) in Worcester, Mass. from 1781 to 1788. From 1788 to 1820, in partnership with Thomas and various others, he was a publisher and bookseller in Boston, Mass.; Baltimore, Md.; Albany, N.Y.; and Troy, N.Y.
