Miscellaneous manuscripts, 1832.

Consists of a letter dated 14 November 1832 from John Adlum to an unidentified correspondent to whom Adlum is sending some vines and also a chestnut tree, descended from a tree planted by George Washington on Judge Richard Peters' estate outside Philadelphia on the day that John Adams was inaugurated President. Adlum also mentions that Col. Timothy Pickering was present on the occasion. Accompanied by a letter dated 14 June 1911 from Thomas B. Donaldson to J.W. Harshberger, in which Donaldson offers the Adlum letter to the University.
