The collection contains records from 1922-1988, but the bulk are from 1922-1960 and 1980-1988. The records include: a history (1922-1958); bylaws; a summary of PDK at different levels (1986); handbook (1980-1981); lists of officers and award winners (1983-1984); newsletters; meeting notices and schedules; correspondence (1932, 1981-1988); essays and research papers written or submitted by members; a scrapbook (1922-1960). The scrapbook documents the highlights of the early years of the fraternity, including photographs of past presidents, and contains membership lists, histories, member and group photographs. There are no minutes of meetings of the organization in the collection. 9 photographs (OGL 1165-1 through OGL 1165-9) have been transferred to the OGL photographic collection.

Local chapter of a national service and research society for professional educators. In 1922 a handful of male students and professors formed an educational fraternity called Padeia. The membership immediately petitioned Phi Delta Kappa, a national fraternity of educators, for permission to form a local chapter.
