AMS, [1892], [Custer and his orders].

General John Gibbon's autograph manuscript, being his comments on General George Armstrong Custer's interpretation of his orders. The unpublished manuscript entitled "Custer and his orders" was intended as an addition to published articles by Gibbon on the Sioux campaign, gathered for a projected but unrealized book on his western experiences. Overall commander Alfred H. Terry met with Gibbon and Custer on June 21, 1876 to lay his final plan, which Gibbon relates.
