Thomas family papers, 1885-1963.

The collection contains correspondence, a guest book, 1914-1939, kept by Edward and Margaret Thomas, and miscellaneous writings. Family correspondence includes letters from and received by Rebecca M. and Allen C. Thomas, 1885-1888 and 1902, and childhood correspondence of Edward Thomas, 1887-1892, together with his student transcript from Haverford College, 1897. A letter to Allen Thomas from biblical scholar James Rendel Harris, dated Feb. 16, 1889, Jerusalem, describes his visit and collecting in that city. Writings include Edward Thomas's brief history of Twentieth Street Meeting, New York City, with additions.

While the Monthly Meeting of New York, also known as Flushing until 1795, was well established by 1682, the date of its first organization is unknown.
