The undated, anonymous Biographical Sketch of James E.B. Finley is a four page hand-written summary of the life of James Edward Burr Finley. It recounts his upbringing and medical education under the care and tutelage of Dr. Benjamin Rush; his service during the Revolutionary War; and his move to Charleston, then Beaufort, South Carolina and back again to Charleston. It extols his virtues as a physician and citizen.
