Medical materials, 1877-1911.

The collection consists of Dr. Kendle's medical notebooks from his training at Bellevue Hospital Medical College in New York for the years 1877 to 1879. These contain lecture notes and clinical observations. His patient account ledgers from his Princeton, Indiana medical practice in Gibson County cover the years 1881 to 1911. They list patient names, expenditures, and receipts.

Dr. George C. Kendle was born in Posey County, Indiana on 22 October 1853. He was married to Louise Smyth and they had at least two children. Kendle went to Bellevue Hospital Medical College in New York to study medicine. He graduated in 1879 and practiced medicine in Abilene, Kansas for two years.
