Typewritten letter from Eudora Welty to N.M. Caffee, chair of a committee of the College of Arts and Sciences at Louisiana State University and Agricultural and Mechanical College in Baton Rouge, La., declining Caffee's invitation to participate in the committee's symposium. Welty explains that her mother's poor health makes it impossible for her to leave home.
