This collection contains many letters written to E. Mildred Buchanan from her mother Willia and brother Thompson while she attended school in Louisville, KY and vacationed in New England between the years 1888-1892. The collection also includes genealogy charts, a family bible record, family wills, applications for the Colonial Dames of America, as well as images of the family crest and plaid. The collection also contains items related to Selema Hall, also known as Chambers Farm, the family estate. Other family names represented in this collection are Lightfoot, Broadus, Gray, Huie, and Ormsby.
