The Kohler Family Papers date ca. 1830-1970's. They pertain primarily to the Walter J., Sr., and Charlotte Schroeder Kohler branch and to the John Michael III and Julilly Kohler branch. There are lesser quantities of material relating to John Michael Kohler II, founder of the Kohler Company, and to Riverbend, the home built on the Sheboygan River, occupied initially by the Walter Kohler, Sr., family, and later by the John Michael Kohler III family. Landscaping at Riverbend was done by Frederick L. Olmstead.
