Papers of Newhouse, a reporter for the Wisconsin State Journal, Madison, Wisconsin. The two processed tape recordings are a Nov. 26, 1956, interview with Newhouse by Clement Sylvestro of the Historical Society staff concerning controversy over Madison police chief Bruce Weatherly which led to a 1956 disciplinary hearing. Newhouse dwells on the people involved, their political ambitions, and related issues such as court treatment of juveniles and a survey by the Northwest Traffic Institute, and gives his own favorable impression of Weatherly.
