Materials generated by meetings of the Society's general membership and other special events such as Founders' Day, annual meetings, Institutes on Local History, awards banquets, etc., including correspondence, programs, press releases, occasional speeches, minutes, agenda, and reports. Minutes and related material from Board of Curators meetings are found in Series 932 (RDA 245/0022). The processed portions of this series is summarized above and dates 1938-1966. Additional accessions are described below, 1971-2000. Other meeting presentations have been cataloged individually with the Society's manuscript holdings.

The State Historical Society was founded in 1846, chartered in 1853, and became a trustee of the state in 1855. Chapter 75, Laws of 1967, continued the Society as an independent agency.
