Ladder to paradise [microform], 1762 [i.e. 1782].

Translation from Greek of Klimax tou paradeisou by St. John Climacus, with all the accompanying texts. Contains 69 homilies rather than the 30 usually found in the "Ladder". Also contains a seventieth, To the shepherd ("K pastiru"). The text contains parallels from the paterika ("skitski", "jerusalimski", etc.). The last eighteen leaves contain moral instructions compiled from different sources. Colophon on leaf 261b is an anonymous scribal inscription with the date of copying given as 1762. This is not possible, since a significant portion was copied on paper with a watermark dated 1779 (use date 1780). Presumably the scribe has either copied an earlier colophon or simply made an error. The actual date of the manuscript is probably 1782. No other inscriptions. A stylized ladder is drawn onleaf 8b.
