Iolanthe [collection] : or, The peer and the peri : a new and original comic opera in two acts / written by W.S. Gilbert ; composed by Arthur Sullivan. 1882-1883.

Arranged in three groups: I. Vocal scores (83). II. Vocal scores-Selections (1). III. Promptbooks (4 in 5 vols.). Vocal scores were published by Hitchcock (New York, c1882) and include one copy annotated as a stage manager's guide, five copies which are director's scores, and an adaptation (showing cuts and interleaved with additional manuscript music) entitled "The land of dreams." The "vocal gems" were published by Stoddart (Philadelphia[?], 1883). One promptbook consists of the published Stoddart libretto (1882) interleaved with manuscript stage directions; the remaining promptbooks are manuscript in lined ledgers with printed text pasted in.
