William Henry Furness, Unitarian minister, was born 20 Apr. 1802 in Boston, Massachusetts. In 1825 Furness was ordained minister of the First Unitarian Church of Philadelphia. He became pastor emeritus of the congregation in 1875 and continued to preach occasionally until his death 30 Jan. 1896 in Philadelphia.
