The majority of these are the Company's advertising posters, 1868-1970s, many of which warn or advise about disease, vaccinations, accidents, health maintenance, and other matters relating to public health. Also included are posters generated by various company activities and include war posters; a security poster used at Stuyvesant Town, a Manhattan housing project built by Metropolitan Life Insurance Company; posters advertising the "Shakespeare Plays," that were paid for by the Company and appeared on public television, 1979-1980; and posters used to advertise internal events and programs, such as the "New Frontiers" sales promotion program, 1982, or the Metropolitan Life Athletic Association play, 1923.
