Street inspection records, 1904-1938.

File cards recording findings of street inspectors ordered pursuant to petitions before local boards of improvement. Cards include information about existence, type, and condition of pavement, curb, sidewalk, gas, street lights, water, hydrants, sewer, electricity, shade trees, houses, and encroachments. Each card also lists number and type of petition which necessitated inspection, a description of location of inspection ward number, street name and boundary limits, width of street, dates of inspection and report, and numbers of Final Section Maps which cover area.
