Field notes, 1891-1918.

Moore's field notes of his archaeological excavations. His notes contain information about the finds and the conditions under which they were excavated, providing locality data and details about the artifacts. Most of his field notes are from excavations in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee. He also conducted limited field work in Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, and South Carolina. Moore's publications based on his artifacts and field notes are housed in the Museum of the American Indian Library. The artifacts are located in the museum. Collection contains a series of letters addressed to him from George W. Rossignol, regarding a proposed expedition to Red River, Texas and to Arkansas, 1899.
