Photographs with some associated negatives of historic buildings and houses in Brooklyn and Long Island, taken by the survey, 1940-1941. Photographs are identified. Included are historical and descriptive notes about historic houses and buildings in Brooklyn and Queens; lists of completed records in Brooklyn, 1937; and lists of Long Island, Queens, and Brooklyn historic buildings being considered for inclusion in the HABS, 1939. There are several reports which outline the development of early American architecture in New York City, Long Island, and central and northern New York State. Reports begin with the year 1621 and cover geography, topography, routes of travel, cultural and climatic influences, styles of architecture, and include photographs, maps, and simple architectural drawings. Collection also includes blueprints, tracings, preliminary sketches of buildings in Long Island, New York City, Westchester County, other areas of New York State and Pennsylvania.

The Hampton Lillibridge House was built in 1796 by Rhode Island native, Hampton Lillibridge in the traditional New England style. The house was originally located at 310 East Bryan Street in Savannah, Georgia, but when it was purchased by antiques dealer, Jim Williams, in 1963 it was moved to its present location at 507 East Julian Street in Savannah, where it is known as one of Savannah's most haunted homes.
