Miscellaneous materials pertaining to Robert M. La Follette's years as a U.S. Senator; including mainly reprints and secondary sources, a few letters, and two speech drafts. Also present is a transcript, Feb. 16, 1918, of testimony in Superior Court of Dane County, Wis., by F. W. Montgomery, W. N. Parker, and E. J. B. Schubring, defendants in a suit brought by La Follette contesting his expulsion from membership in the Madison Club on grounds of his alleged pro-German sentiments and a photostat copy of a resolution against La Follette's position on Germany adopted by the U.W. faculty.

Robert Marion La Follette Sr. (June 14, 1855 – June 18, 1925), colloquially known as Fighting Bob, was an American lawyer and politician. He represented Wisconsin in both chambers of Congress and served as the Governor of Wisconsin. A Republican for most of his career, he ran for President of the United States as the nominee of his own Progressive Party in the 1924 presidential election. Historian John D.
