Papers of a physician, pharmacist, and author who worked to establish standards for pharmaceutical preparations, change existing patent and trademark laws, and increase the level of cooperation between physicians and pharmacists. Stewart founded scientific departments at Parke, Davis and Company, Frederick Sterns and Company, and H.K. Mulford Company, and was active in numerous professional associations.
