Scrapbooks, 1892-1941.

A scrapbook and unbound items, primarily newspaper clippings, magazine articles, and printed programs and other memorabilia about Pierce's career as a fund raiser and leader for the YMCA, Laymen's Missionary Movement, and Interchurch World Movement. Campaigns he directed include Wisconsin Colleges Associated (1919) to raise funds for nine Wisconsin colleges, and work in Australia and New Zealand (1907-1908) as well as many United States locations.

The YMCA, established at Oberlin College in 1881, and the YWCA, established in 1894, were voluntary associations of students dedicated to social and religious work for the purpose of building Christian character in their members. Oberlin College provided on-campus quarters for both organizations, whose staffs were paid out of an annual grant from the College. Under the presidency of William E.
