ALsS : Trenton, N.J., to Aaron Ogden Dayton, 1839-1845.

The first letter, 20 November 1839, concerns efforts by Vroom and others involved in the Broad Seal War to have their election confirmed. In the second, 11 April 1845, Vroom explains that illness has kept him from attending to a request from Dayton and congratulates him on having retained his government appointment after a political shakeup.

New Jersey lawyer, politician, and diplomat. In 1838 he was elected to Congress, but because of irregularities in the returns, he and several other winning candidates were not confirmed.
