Printed form letter sent to inquiring claimants, informing them that according to the treaty signed with Great Britain, a tribunal is to be set up in Geneva to fix the sum to be paid to the United States in settlement of the Alabama Claims. Claimants must file their papers with the department immediately, as the deadline for presenting its case is 16 December. Letter signed by Hamilton Fish, secretary of state.
