Song for General Lafayette, Wilmington, Fluvanna County, Virginia, 1824 November 3.

D.W.H. Bowles comments on General Lafayette's visit to Wilmington, Fluvanna County, Virginia, erroneously dated October 1824. he reproduces the lyrics to a song composed by Capt. John G. Miller for the occasion. He notes that after a mixed choir sung the song [music not included] Lafayette replied. Bowles also writes of his reaction as an eyewitness to the entertainment. Robert D. Ward, in An Account of General LaFayette's Visit to Virginia, in the Years 1824-25... (Richmond, Va: West, Johnston Co., 1881), cites the date of Lafayette's visit to Wilmington as 1824 November 3.
