Records of the chairman, 1970-1990.

Records of the Chairman of the Committee on By-Laws and Ordinances of the College of Physicians of Philadelphia, 1970-1990. The bulk of the records are from Robert S. Pressman (1973-1977) and Palmer Howard Futcher (1979-1990). Included are agenda and minutes from meetings of Council and the Committee on By-Laws and Ordinances, and drafts and revisions of the Ordinances and By-Laws of the College of Physicians. Also included are memoranda and correspondence from College presidents George I. Blumstein, Brooke Roberts, and Robert Austrian, and Executive Director William F. Chaveas. Also documented in the collection is the role played by the Committee on By-Laws and Ordinances in the 1990 re-organization of the College of Physicians; during this year, an Ad Hoc Committee on Governance, with the aid of the Committee on By-Laws and Ordinances, drafted the Ordinances and By-Laws of 1990, which differed significantly from previous versions.
