Fuller reminisces about his acquaintance with Mark Twain when the latter was 28, "a rather quiet young man, talking little and working diligently at his avocation of news gathering." Describes their visits to silver mines on horseback, when once "We met a rattlesnake in our path & Mark shot his head off with his Colt's revolver."
