Letter to Donald Campbell, 1762 May 4.

Jeffrey Amherst, New York, to Donald Campbell. Concerns raising 268 recruits from the colony of Virginia for the King's forces. Campbell is chosen to go to Hampton [Va.] on the "Ranger", and from there to Williamsburg to review the recruits. There he is to deliver a letter to Lt. Gov. [Francis] Fauquier. Provides a credit on John Hunter to pay the bounties. Troops are to board the ship immediately for the return trip to New York.
