DS, 1776 September 11 : In Convention for the State of Pennsylvania, to Grabrail Blackney.

A commission by order of the Convention to appoint Grabrail Blackney to Second Lieutenant "in the Flying Camp for the Middle States of America, for the Protection of said States against all hostile Enterprizes, and for the Defence and establishing of American Liberty." Engrossed by Timothy Matlack, who only two months previously had engrossed the Declaration of Independence.
