This collection includes reemployment reports (Jan. 26-June 23, 1939) listing workers with their job classes who had been rehired after being fired during the 1939 strike; correspondence and newspaper clippings related to the case of James Porter (leader of the C.I.O. Swift & Co. strike in 1939) who was convicted of malicious mischief for throwing bricks through the windows of the home of William Kruck in a strike-related incident (September and October, 1939); and two documents naming John Davidchik as the authorized collective bargaining representative for the Packinghouse Workers Organizing Committee affiliated with the CIO Local 71 (1942).
