This collection contains 196 slides of faculty and staff of the library as well as images of the library itself. There are also slides of the Social Science Citation Index. They were used for library instruction in the 1970s and 1980s. It also includes a script for a presentation on the library that involved Rex E. Lee which was prepared in 1991.

The Harold B. Lee Library at Brigham Young University hosts lecture series designed to promote lifelong learning. Plans for the David O. McKay building began in 1952 after an evaluation by the Brigham Young University College of Education concluded that the existing building for the College of Education were no longer meeting the growing needs of the program.
