Diary of Edwin W. Stone, who served with the Rhode Island Artillery Regiment of the United States Army of the Potomac during the Civil War. The diary recounts events from February 9 to November 12, 1863, including a visit by President Lincoln to the Army camp near Sharpsburgh, Maryland, and accounts of his Stone's unit's movements and participation in the Chancellorsville Campaign and the Battle of Gettysburg. The diary comprises the last 26 pages of the volume, which seems also to have served as a logbook, though most pages are blank.
