These are the transcripts of acts and resolutions passed by the General Assembly; signed by representatives of the Senate and the House of Representatives; and approved, dated, and signed into law by Governor Joseph Desha. These typically concern the navigation of Kentucky's waterways; the construction or maintenance of state roads; the formation of new counties, districts, election precincts, and towns; the division of lands; appropriations for state funding; moving seats of justice; and certain court cases requiring legislative action. Also included among these acts are dissolutions of marriages.

Joseph Desha was elected as Kentucky's ninth governor in 1824, the first governor who was not a veteran of the American Revolution. Desha was a Jeffersonian Republican who also ran as a debt relief candidate. Born in 1768, he moved to Kentucky with his family when he was thirteen and remained for three years before moving to Nashville, Tennessee.
