South wind : AMs and related material, [1916]-1924 Oct. 25.

Manuscript of the novel, complete except for minor gaps (notably ca. 5 p. at the end of ch. 6). The text is written on only one half of each page, and on both sides of each leaf (with some leaves glued on top of others), leaving room for additions and corrections. There are substantial differences from the printed text. Also present is a letter, dated 25 October 1924, from Douglas to Walter Lowenfels attesting to the fact that this is the only manuscript of South wind in existence.

Walter Lowenfels began working on New jazz poets in 1962 to collect a group of poems written in a "modern rhythm influenced by street sounds and other non-literary sounds of the 1960s" that would be anthologized and a select few recorded for an album. Released in 1967, the album contained readings by twenty-one poets.
