This collection consists of a photograph album of the Aliceville Prisoner of War Camp and a copy of a scrapbook containing German sketches of Aliceville. The 255 4"x5" black and white photographs offer views of German prisoners, the American military, Aliceville buildings and facilities, prisoner crafts, projects and gardens, and the German city of Wurzburg. The photographs and sketches offer an intriguing view of German prisoner culture, the Americans that guarded them, World War II Germany, and also documents the conditions of an internment camp. The scrapbook gives a unique perspective on a prisoner of war camp. The original photographs are stored in photograph sleeves, while acid free copies have been placed in the photograph album.
