This accretion consists of a 2% sample of case files for inmates released from 1954 through 1978 from Green Haven (5 cu. ft.) and Attica (46 cu. ft.) Correctional Facilities. The records date from the earliest times of incarceration in the 1930s. Native American, Asian, and women prisoners, are represented along with the other special categories of the sample, but there is no breakdown of files by category in either facility.

Bushwick Correctional Facility, located in Brooklyn, New York, was also known as Bushwick Rehabilitation Center and Bushwick Community Based Center. It was administered by the Narcotics Addiction Control Commission under the Office of Mental Hygiene, and served as a work release and general confinement facility from the late 1960s through the middle 1970s.
