This collection consists of the official records of the Gilead Lutheran Church. Included are the business and financial records of the church as well as land records and vital records. The vital records include baptism, 1777-1923; deaths, 1822-1825, 1829, 1854-1923; marriage records, 1802-1923; record of confirmations and communions, 1794-1923; and certificates of dismission, 1855-1861. Other records include minutes of church meetings, printed materials, Sunday school records, and records relating to individual preachers. The vital records in Boxes 5 and 6 are also available on microfilm.
