Largely minutes and memorabilia of the Northern Lights Study Club, a Minneapolis women's social and literary organization (1923-1937), and of its two predecessors, the Aurora Borealis Club (1901-1906) and the Northern Lights Literary Club (1919-1923). There are also some Merkert family genealogical materials and memorabilia (1903-1940); and letters to Merkert (1943-1948) from Theodore Wirth, for whom she had worked in the 1920s and 1930s as an employee of the Minneapolis Park Board.
