Journal, 1825 June 24-Sept. 8.

Journal of a voyage from Prairie du Chien to his home in Philadelphia. Includes events of the journey and notes on the Indians, minerals, and animals of the Great Lakes region, and sketches of insects and plants. The journal was private and intended for his wife, so it contains numerous bits of doggerel and references to her. At the end are the bookkeeping accounts of the voyage.
