John R. Cummins diaries and miscellany, 1850-1918 [microform].

Diaries (1855-1918, 58 v.) of this farmer who migrated from Pennsylvania to Eden Prairie, Minnesota, in 1857, giving information on farming activities and methods, crops, prices, his involvement in local politics, social and church activities, numerous trips to the East Coast and throughout Minnesota, his employment as a carpenter at the Leech Lake Indian agency (1865-1867), and his life in Minneapolis and travels (1908-1918) after retiring from farming. There is very little mention of his wife and family.
