Lucius Fairchild and family papers, 1855-1892.

Copies of selected items from a Wisconsin official's correspondence that document a few aspects of Minnesota history, including trips from Superior (Wis.) to St. Paul and the construction of the Northern Pacific Railroad. Fairchild was governor of Wisconsin (1866-1872) and held other political and diplomatic posts.
