This collection contains 256 black and white twentieth century images of the Rutland family and friends. There are two folders of identified groups and persons, concentrating on James Richard Rutland, Robert Rutland, Sr., Robert Rutland Jr., and Hulda Rutland Smith. Two folders have photographs of unidentified persons and groups. There are also two folders of photographs of miscellaneous items including a probable photograph of Stone Mountain, Ga., before construction and a photograph of a tree from the Arapnne Forest, France, that is a World War I memorial at Auburn University. One folder contains 2 tintypes, one of James Richard Rutland as a youth.
