Correspondence and visitor registers, 1892-1950.

The visitor register (1898-1899) lists the names and addresses of visitors to the prison. The correspondence register (1892-1901) and registers of inmates' mail (1914, 1924-1926, 1949-1950) record what the inmates received in the mail. For some years, the correspondence register also lists items sent by inmates, while the 1914 register includes lists of photographs sent to the Albany, New York Bureau of Investigation (1914-1915) and fingerprints sent to Leavenworth (1915-1925), Department of Justice, Washington, D.C. (1926-1931), St. Paul (1931), New York (1917-1918), and Michigan (1924-1931), and the 1949-1950 volume records the sender of the item received.
