Disposition Authorities for Individual Classifications for Headquarters Case Files. Part B: Classification 204. Federal Revenue Sharing Grants.

This classification was established on September 27, 1977, for civil rights violations of Federal revenue sharing grants under the following legislation: State and Local Assistance Act (1972); Crime Control Act (1976); Comprehensive Employment and Training Act (1973); Housing and Community Development Act (1971); and the Railroad Revitalization Act (1976). the violations investigated include discrimination because of age, handicap, religion, race, color, and natinal origin, depending upon the legislation. Investigations are conducted by the FBI's Special Investigative Division of the Civil Rights Section, Civil Rights Act of 1964 unit.

The FBI established this classification when it assumed responsibility for ascertaining the protection capabilities and weaknesses of defense plants. Each plant survey was a separate case file, with the survey, supplemental surveys, and all communications dealing with a plant insofar as plant protection was concerned, filed together.
