18th century English directive, [ca.1725].

An eighteenth century English manuscript which gives the text of the instructions to the Commissioners of Trade and Plantations. The document was prepared by the Board of Trade and Plantations to be used by a newly appointed person to the Board. The Board had very extensive powers over trade and economic matters in both at home and abroad. In the U.S. the board was charged with the enforcement of the navigation acts, supervision of colonial administration, examination of colonial laws with a view to their approval or disapproval by the Crown.
