Governor's extraditions : Governor Bert T. Combs, 1960-1963.

These records document the governor's role in the apprehension of fugitives from justice. Included are copies of requests by out-of-state authorities to the governor of Kentucky, asking for the return of fugitives now in Kentucky. Also included are executive orders from the governor, directing that these fugitives be turned over to out-of-state authorities.

Governor of Kentucky, Judge, Lawyer Bert T. Combs was born in Clay County, Kentucky in 1911. He attended Cumberland College, and he graduated from the University of Kentucky Law School in 1937. After graduating with his law degree and serving in World War II, Combs began his rise in politics.
