Collection (76 items, dated 1890-1953) includes correspondence while Myrick attended Trinity College, Durham, N.C., 1888-1892, while a typing instructor at Trinity, while teaching in Halifax County, and while librarian at Trinity; correspondence concerning Myrick serving as agent for the Hickory Chair Company; letters of his cousins Martha Jenkins and Mary (Jenkins) Miles on family genealogy; letter, 1924, of Captain Wilson T. Jenkins, 14th North Carolina Regiment, C.S.A., describing the exploits of Company A during the Civil War; sections of a diary of Myrick's aunt, Mary Beckham, when teaching school in Halifax County in 1873, and in 1897, describing country life; and genealogical material on the Beckham, Dandridge, Hilliard, and Myrick (Merrick) families. Addition (02-242) (100 items, .20 lin. ft; dated 1891-1894) comprises letters, mostly to Myrick from family members (1891-1894), providing a look at everyday life and concerns in North Carolina in the late-19th century.
