Contract and grant federal funds remittance files, ca.1982-[ongoing].

These files are kept on federally funded grants and/or contracts. The division or section head in charge of a project advises the Accounting Section how much money to request for the month. Accounting sends a letter of credit to a commercial bank for the funds to be remitted from the Federal Reserve Bank by wire transfer to the bank to be credited to the State Treasury. Accounting then sends a Treasurer's Receipt Form (Schedule S-4-24) to the treasurer to tell what fund the money should be credited to. These files deal exclusively with the transfer of grant money. All back up information will be in the appropriate division's grant project finance files (Schedule GS-3-9).
