These files document communication between Governor Thomas E. Bramlette and the General Assembly regarding affairs of the Commonwealth. Included are printed copies of communications from the governor to the legislature, such as messages concerning the general condition of the state. Also included are transcripts of letters between Governor Bramlette, Union officials, and President Abraham Lincoln, in which the governor protests various actions of federal military authorities in Kentucky.
